In-person support

Some things only happen when people are in the same room. At the Penny Brohn Cancer Care Centre, set in the gardens of Ham Green House near Bristol, you can meet others who understand, learn from our practitioners and take real time for yourself. Everything Penny Brohn Cancer Care UK offers here is free, and no referral is needed.

[Media note from the brief: recent exterior and garden photography available; interiors and sessions need a fresh shoot; the CEO welcome video may suit the top of this page.]

What happens at the Centre

People sometimes ask the difference between our in-person offers. Here is the short version.

Cancer Support Days

A full day at the Centre with others in a similar situation, built around activities that support your health and wellbeing, delivered by our specialist team and backed by clinical evidence.

Retreats and residentials

Stay with us for a night or two. Relax and Restore is a one-night pause to rest and recharge. The Living Well with Cancer Programme is a two-night deeper dive into supporting your health and wellbeing using our whole-person approach.

Regular in-person sessions

Weekly sessions at the Centre, from Tea and Chat and Create and Unwind to Yoga for Balance and Mobility and Sound Sanctuary. Free, friendly and open to anyone affected by cancer.

[Component: in-person sessions grid, fed dynamically; do not hand-list in final copy. NEEDS FACT: confirm the current session list.]

Your first visit

You do not need an appointment to see the Centre. You can simply come in Monday to Friday, walk the gardens, sit quietly in the Sanctuary, have a cup of tea in the Dining Room or browse the books in the Sitting Room. If you are joining a session for the first time, arrive a little early and our team will show you around.

Lunch is available to book on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Childcare bursaries are available through the Nicola Corry Support Fund.

[VERIFY: first-visit steps and whether lunch is booked on this site (Stripe) or by phone; open question from Sophie’s Centre and Gardens brief.]

How to find us

Ham Green House, Chapel Pill Lane, Pill, Bristol, BS20 0HH. The Centre is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

There is plenty of free parking on site; use the postcode BS20 0HH and What3Words marked.curve.penny. By public transport, take the X4 bus to Pill, get off at The Anchor, and it is a signposted ten-minute walk.

[VERIFY: opening hours still current.]

Some independent therapists and organisations also work from Ham Green House. Their services are separate from ours and may charge; contact them directly.

[Confirm whether to keep the independent-therapists line here; venue-hire content stays on the separate Ham Green House site.]

Everything we offer here is free, and no one is ever turned away. If you are able to give, a voluntary contribution helps keep the Centre open to everyone. If not, please just come; you are why we are here.

[Short variant of the semi-universal contribution block; keep wording consistent with Online support.]
