In-person support

Some things only happen when people are in the same room.

At the Penny Brohn Cancer Care Centre, set in the gardens of Ham Green House near Bristol, you can meet others who understand, learn from our practitioners and take real time for yourself. Everything Penny Brohn Cancer Care UK offers here is open to everyone, regardless of their financial circumstances, and no referral is needed.

Good to know

Who it's for

Adults affected by cancer. Some days and programmes are for particular stages or circumstances, and each session's description says who it's for.

Joining with someone

Loved ones can come with you to the Relax and Restore Retreat. On the Living Well programme they can't join the sessions, but they're welcome to stay, enjoy the house and eat with the group. At a Cancer Support Day they can come if you'd like help taking in the advice.

How to start

Register once, then book online. You don't need an appointment just to visit the Centre.

Before you visit

Lunch needs to be booked by 12 noon the day before your visit, so our kitchen team can prepare enough meals for everyone, including people affected by cancer, other Centre guests and members of the public. Book lunch here.

What happens at the Centre

People sometimes ask about the differences between our in-person offerings. Here’s the short version.

As a charity, every donation helps keep Penny Brohn Cancer Care UK open to everyone. If you’re unable to give at this time, please still join us; you’re why we’re here, and we’ll never turn anyone away because of their circumstances.

Your first visit

You don’t need an appointment to visit the Centre. You can simply come in Monday to Friday, walk the gardens, sit quietly in the Sanctuary or have a cup of tea in the Dining Room.

Lunch is available to book on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Please book ahead so our kitchen team can plan.
